Review and approval

Nothing goes live until a person on your team approves it

Every draft lands in a review queue with its checks, sources and preview. Comment, assign a reviewer, ask for a revision or approve. Approval happens in the web app, by a person, for one exact version.

What it does

Review and approval, in detail

One review queue

See what is waiting and what is assigned to you. The overview lists the reviews assigned to you first.

Comments that stay put

Discussion stays with the piece across revisions, so the next version answers the last round of feedback.

Request changes and revise

Write what should change and Wavefront drafts a new version from your feedback. The old version stays on record.

Roles that fit a team

Owners manage the workspace, editors draft and approve, viewers read and comment. Invite as many people as you need.

Approval is human-only

API keys and AI agents can draft and plan, but they can't approve. Approval needs a person signed in to the web app.

Notifications where you work

Slack and Microsoft Teams messages when something needs review or goes live, plus tasks in Asana or Trello if your team works there.

How it runs

Step by step

  1. 1

    Ready for review

The draft arrives with checks, sources and a preview.

  2. 2

    Discuss

Comment, or ask a teammate to review.

  3. 3

    Revise

Ask for changes; a new version keeps the history.

  4. 4

    Approve

A person approves that exact version for publishing.

What a reviewer sees

Everything needed to decide, on one page.

  • A desktop and mobile preview of the version
  • Its checks: blockers, warnings and what passed
  • The sources behind each figure
  • The documents and prompt version it was written from
  • The discussion and activity across every revision
  • Where it will publish, and when

Questions about review and approval

Can an AI agent approve a post?

No. Agents connected over MCP and API keys can plan, draft and revise, but approving a version needs a person signed in to the web app.

Who can approve?

Owners and editors. Viewers can read and comment. Owners decide who has which role.

Can approval ever be automatic?

Only if an owner turns on auto-approve for autopilot, and then only for articles from calendar items a person wrote, with zero blockers in their checks. Every owner gets an email when it is turned on.
