What it does
Wavefront publishes approved articles as posts in a HubSpot CMS blog. New posts are drafts by default; you can also publish live or schedule a post, which HubSpot holds until the time.
A revision of a live post goes through HubSpot's draft buffer, so the page doesn't change until the new version is pushed live. Anything an editor added to the post's head HTML stays.
Before you start
- Content Hub (CMS Hub) or Marketing Hub, Professional or Enterprise
- A blog and a blog author in HubSpot
How to connect HubSpot
- In Wavefront, open Settings → Publishing and choose Add destination. Pick HubSpot.
- Choose Connect with HubSpot, or create a private app in HubSpot (Settings → Integrations → Private apps) with the content and files scopes and paste its access token.
- Choose Load fields, then pick the blog and the byline. HubSpot needs an author to publish a post.
- Choose Test connection. Wavefront reads the blog and the author without writing anything.
- Save, and choose whether new posts start as drafts or go live.
What Wavefront sends
- Title, slug, clean HTML body and post summary
- HTML title, meta description and canonical URL
- Featured image with alt text
- Categories and tags as HubSpot tags, up to 10, found by name or created
- The article's JSON-LD in the post's head HTML
Good to know
- Images go to HubSpot's File Manager only when a post goes live. Drafts link Wavefront's hosted copies.
- Withdraw archives the post; HubSpot keeps it among archived posts.
- If HubSpot refuses the connection, the destination shows Reconnect needed until an owner reconnects.
