What it does
Wavefront publishes approved articles to one blog in your Shopify store. New articles are hidden by default; you can also make them visible or schedule them, and Shopify holds them until the time.
The SEO title and description go into Shopify's own fields. A revision keeps the article's handle, so its URL doesn't change.
Before you start
- A Shopify store with a blog
- An app on the store with the write_content scope
How to connect Shopify
- In Shopify's Dev Dashboard, create an app for the store, give it the write_content scope, release it and install it.
- Copy the app's client ID and secret. A custom app made in the store admin before 2026 can use its Admin API access token instead.
- In Wavefront, open Settings → Publishing and choose Add destination. Pick Shopify.
- Enter the store's myshopify.com domain (Settings → Domains lists it) and the blog handle, such as news.
- Paste the credentials, and choose whether withdrawing hides or deletes the article.
- Choose Test connection. Wavefront checks the scope and that the blog exists, and lists your blog handles if it doesn't.
What Wavefront sends
- Title, handle, HTML body and summary
- Tags from the pillar and keywords, up to 20
- The hero image, which Shopify copies into its own storage
- SEO title and description in Shopify's title and description fields
- The author, or a default byline you set, or the store's name
Good to know
- Shopify has no canonical URL field and themes add their own structured data, so neither is sent.
- Body images stay on Wavefront's media host.
- Product mentions and links from your store's catalog aren't built yet.
