What it does
Wavefront posts approved LinkedIn copy, with an approved image if you pick one, to the connected member's own LinkedIn feed. It needs no third-party social tool.
A public post can't be taken back, so only a person in the web app can post. Agents and API keys can draft LinkedIn copy but can't post it.
Before you start
- A LinkedIn account
- Owner role in the Wavefront workspace to connect it
How to connect LinkedIn
- In Wavefront, open Settings → Publishing and choose Add destination. Pick LinkedIn.
- Choose Connect with LinkedIn and allow Wavefront to post on your behalf.
- Choose Test and save. The test shows who it posts as and when the connection expires.
- On an approved LinkedIn post, pick an approved image if you want one, then choose Post now.
What Wavefront sends
- The post text, with hashtags kept
- Images (JPG, PNG or GIF) with their alt text, one or several
- Checks before sending: the 3,000-character limit and the image formats
- A link to the live post
Good to know
- Posts go to your personal feed. Posting as a company page isn't supported yet.
- No scheduling: LinkedIn can't hold a post for later, so only Post now is offered.
- Posts can't be edited. To change one, withdraw it (which deletes it) and post the new version.
- LinkedIn connections last 60 days; the destination tells you when to reconnect.
