Connect ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or Cursor
Add Wavefront to an AI agent with one MCP address and sign in. The agent plans, drafts and publishes as you, but only a person approves work.
Updated
Wavefront is a remote MCP server, so any AI agent that supports MCP can work in your workspaces. Add this address to the agent and sign in when it asks:
https://wavefront.adwave.com/mcp
There’s no key to paste. The agent signs in as you with OAuth, and works in the workspaces you belong to, with your role. Owners also find the address under Settings → API and MCP, with a Copy button.
What an agent can do
An agent can read your plan and documents, talk to the strategist, edit the plan and backlog, draft and revise articles, copy and images, answer a draft’s questions, comment, assign reviewers, read search data and suggestions, and publish or schedule approved work. Owners’ agents can also set autopilot’s cadence and manage event webhooks.
Some things stay with a person in the web app, whatever the agent asks:
- Approving a version.
- Withdrawing a published page.
- Posting to social networks, and emailing a newsletter.
- Turning auto-approve on or off.
- Team changes, API keys, connecting accounts and billing.
A viewer’s agent can read but not write.
ChatGPT
- Open Settings → Apps & Connectors → Advanced settings and turn on developer mode. This needs a Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu plan.
- Under Apps & Connectors, choose Create, name it Wavefront, enter the address above and choose OAuth authentication.
- ChatGPT opens the Wavefront consent page. Sign in, keep the requested access and choose Allow.
- In a chat, add Wavefront from the tools menu and ask it to list your workspaces.
Claude
- In Claude on the web or desktop, open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
- Name it Wavefront and enter the address. Leave the OAuth client ID and secret empty: Claude registers itself.
- Choose Connect, sign in to Wavefront with an emailed code or Google, leave read, write and stay connected checked, and choose Allow.
- In a chat, turn the connector on from the tools menu and ask Claude to list your Wavefront workspaces.
On a Team or Enterprise plan, an organization owner adds the connector first. In Claude Code, run claude mcp add --transport http wavefront https://wavefront.adwave.com/mcp, then /mcp to sign in.
Grok
- Go to grok.com/connectors, choose New Connector, then Custom.
- Name it Wavefront and enter the address.
- Grok opens the Wavefront sign-in in a pop-up, so allow pop-ups from grok.com. Sign in, leave read, write and stay connected checked, and choose Allow.
- In a chat, ask Grok to list your Wavefront workspaces.
On Grok Business and Enterprise, a team admin may need to provision the connector first.
Cursor
- Add Wavefront to
~/.cursor/mcp.json, or a project’s.cursor/mcp.json, undermcpServers:"wavefront": { "url": "https://wavefront.adwave.com/mcp" }. - Cursor shows Needs login next to the server. Choose it to sign in in your browser, then choose Allow.
Give your agent instructions
The MCP setup guide has instructions to paste into your agent’s custom or project instructions, with your workspace’s slug. They tell it how to plan, draft and follow reviews, and what to ask you before acting. The MCP tool reference lists every tool.
How long a connection lasts
A connection lasts 30 days from when you choose Allow, however often you use it. After that, the agent asks you to sign in again. To cut off an agent sooner, a team owner can remove your membership, or you can revoke the connector in the agent’s own settings.
Bots that can only send a key
Some hosts, such as a bot built on the xAI or OpenAI API, can only send a fixed header. An owner can create a workspace API key for them instead. The key reaches one workspace only, and the same person-only limits apply. See API keys and webhooks and the MCP setup guide.
What an agent’s work looks like
Drafts an agent starts show Agent (MCP) as their source, and its plan changes are recorded as the agent’s. Autopilot never auto-approves posts or ideas an agent wrote. A connection needs the trial or the plan.
If something goes wrong
See agent connection problems for read-only connections, repeated sign-ins and workspaces the agent can’t find.
