Create beehiiv post drafts from Wavefront

What it does

Wavefront turns approved newsletter copy into a draft post in your beehiiv publication, with the email subject and preview text.

It never sends or publishes the post. You review it in beehiiv and send it yourself.

Before you start

• A beehiiv publication on the Max or Enterprise plan (beehiiv allows creating posts through its API only on those plans)

How to connect beehiiv

1. In beehiiv, create an API key under Settings → API.
2. Copy the publication ID from the same page. It starts with pub_.
3. In Wavefront, open Settings → Publishing and choose Add destination. Pick beehiiv.
4. Enter the publication ID and the API key.
5. Choose Test connection. It tells you if your beehiiv plan doesn't allow creating posts.
6. On an approved newsletter, choose Create draft in beehiiv.

What Wavefront sends

• A post with status draft
• Email subject and preview text
• The newsletter body

Good to know

• Drafts only. Wavefront can't send, schedule or publish a post.
• beehiiv's API creates posts only on its Max and Enterprise plans.
• Once a post has been sent or published, Wavefront can't change or delete it.
