What it does
Wavefront turns approved newsletter copy into a draft regular campaign for one Mailchimp audience, with the subject, preview text and HTML filled in.
It never sends or schedules the campaign. You open the draft in Mailchimp, check it and send it yourself.
Before you start
- A Mailchimp account with an audience
- A verified sending address for replies
How to connect Mailchimp
- In Mailchimp, create an API key under Profile → Extras → API keys.
- Find the audience ID under Audience → Settings → Audience name and defaults.
- In Wavefront, open Settings → Publishing and choose Add destination. Pick Mailchimp.
- Enter the audience ID, the from name, the reply-to address and the API key.
- Choose Test connection. Wavefront checks the settings and credentials without writing anything, then you save.
- On an approved newsletter, choose Create draft in Mailchimp.
What Wavefront sends
- A regular campaign named after the publication slug
- Subject line, preview text and the HTML body
- A link to the draft in Mailchimp
Good to know
- Drafts only. Wavefront can't send or schedule a campaign.
- Once a campaign has been sent or scheduled, Wavefront can't change or delete it.
