Plan your content with the strategist
The strategist researches your site and topics, proposes a brief, voice, keywords and a calendar, and changes the plan as you chat. Then you save it.
Updated
The strategist is a research assistant on the Strategy page that writes your content plan with you. It proposes a full plan, you tell it what to change, and when the plan looks right you save it so drafts can use it.
Read the first proposal
After the welcome screen, the strategist reads your site, searches your topics and competitors, and proposes a plan in the panel on the right. The plan has four sections:
| Section | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Overview | The brief: what the site is, the audience, goals, positioning, what to avoid, and the pillars (the main themes) |
| Keywords | Search phrases grouped by pillar. When volume data is available, each shows monthly searches and a difficulty from 0 to 100, with its source. Otherwise they come from what ranks and what people ask |
| Calendar | Dated posts, each with a format, a keyword and an angle |
| Voice | How the writing should sound |
The strategist may ask up to three questions first. Answer them in the message box.
Change the plan by chatting
- Type what you want in the message box, such as “Focus on beginners and practical how-tos” or “Two posts a week: one article, one short social post”. Press Enter to send, or Shift + Enter for a new line.
- The strategist researches if it needs to, then updates the plan. Sections that changed get a dot, and chips on the reply jump to them.
- Suggested replies sit above the message box. Choose one to send it.
- Undo on a reply reverts that reply’s changes.
To start the conversation over without losing the plan, open the conversation options and choose New conversation.
If a reply would move more than five posts that are already planned, the strategist leaves them on their dates and shows them under Proposed changes. Choose Apply the N moves, or Apply the new calendar when it proposed a whole new calendar, if you want them. You can undo it afterwards, but it can’t be applied a second time.
Edit the plan directly
Owners and editors can make some changes without a strategist turn:
- Remove a keyword from the Keywords section.
- Move a post to another date, or remove it, from the post’s menu on the Calendar. Removing a post keeps its draft, if it has one, in the Library.
Each change shows a message with Undo. If someone else changed the plan at the same time, the page reloads it and asks you to make your change again.
Save the plan
When the plan is ready, the panel shows Your plan is ready.
- Save plan turns the plan into workspace documents: the strategy, voice, keywords, calendar and ideas, plus the workspace profile. They are saved as a new version on the Documents page.
- Save and draft week 1 saves the plan, then drafts this strategy’s posts due in the next 7 days. One message reports how many drafts started and how many were skipped, and why.
After the first save, the button reads Save changes. Drafts and autopilot always use the saved plan, so unsaved changes don’t affect them until you save.
Costs and permissions
- Talking to the strategist and editing the plan don’t use credits. They do need the trial or the plan.
- Owners and editors talk to the strategist and save plans. Viewers can read the conversation and the plan.
- Agents connected over MCP can talk to the strategist and edit the plan too. Their changes are recorded as theirs. See connect an AI agent.
If something goes wrong
- “The strategist couldn’t finish that reply”. Send the message again. Your plan is unchanged.
- Save is greyed out. The plan needs a brief and some keywords or posts first. Ask the strategist to fill them in.
- The page says the documents are managed in Git. That workspace’s documents come from a repository, so the plan can’t be saved from the app.
Next: draft your first post.
