Set up your workspace on the welcome screen
One welcome screen creates your workspace. Give it your website or a few lines of direction, and the strategist starts researching a plan.
Updated
You set up a workspace on one screen: add your website, describe what you want, name the workspace and choose Start planning. Wavefront creates the workspace and the strategist starts researching a plan right away.
Fill in the welcome screen
The screen is titled Plan your content the first time, and Set up another workspace after that.
- Website. Paste your site’s address. It’s optional if you describe the project below, but it gives the strategist the most to work with: it reads the site to learn what you do and how you write.
- What should the strategist know? Describe the direction in plain words, for example “two posts a week for small agencies, nothing salesy”. You need a website, a description, or both.
- More details (optional). Open it to add:
- Who is it for? Your audience.
- What should the content achieve? For example more readers, signups or authority.
- How often should you publish? Pick a cadence, from 1 post a week to a post every weekday, or leave Let the strategist suggest.
- Anything to avoid? Topics, claims or a tone you don’t want.
- Workspace name. Wavefront suggests one from your site. The workspace’s address, shown as
/w/your-name, comes from the name. Choose Change to edit the address now. It can’t change later, though you can rename the workspace at any time. - Choose Start planning.
What happens next
Start planning creates the workspace with your trial credits and a starter profile, then opens Strategy. The strategist begins its first turn at once: it reads your site, searches your topics and competitors, and looks at what people ask. Progress lines show what it’s reading.
It then proposes a whole plan: a brief, a voice, pillars, keywords and a dated calendar. It asks at most three questions. Continue with plan with the strategist.
Planning doesn’t use credits. You approve every post before it’s published.
The Getting started checklist
The workspace’s Overview page shows a Getting started checklist to owners and editors of a new workspace:
- Plan your content with the strategist. Opens Strategy.
- Draft your first posts. Draft calendar items now, or turn on autopilot to draft them as they come due.
- Invite your team. Invite editors to review and approve, and viewers to follow along and comment. See invite your team.
Running more than one site
Each site or client gets its own workspace, with its own team, documents, plan and billing. To add one, open the workspace switcher in the sidebar and choose Create a workspace. The same welcome screen opens.
The trial credit is granted once per person, so a second workspace starts without trial credits. One person can own up to 10 workspaces. If you need more, write to support@adwave.com.
If something goes wrong
- “Add a website or describe what it’s about”. Fill in at least one of the first two fields.
- “The strategist couldn’t start”. The workspace was still created. Open Strategy and send the strategist a message to try again. If it says a plan is needed, see your plan and credits.
- “You can’t create another workspace yet”. You already own the most workspaces one account can have. Use an existing one, or contact support.
Still need help? Email support@adwave.com with your workspace name and what you were doing.
